There are no limitations to securing a standard .com domain name . However, Registrants must classify as an Australian registered company to be eligible for a .com.au or .net.au domain name, in accordance with the Australian Domain Name Policy. During the process, you’ll be asked to supply one of the following:
- Australian Company Number
- Registered Business Number
- Trademark Number
- Australian Business Number
To ensure your domain name registration doesn’t expire we recommend setting your domain registration to auto-renew with your saved payment method. Every domain name has an expiry date to recycle it back into the registry if it’s not in use. To keep you one step ahead, we will notify you when the domain name is close to its expiry to give you the opportunity to renew it before it expires. We send your domain renewal notices through to the registrant contact email address attached to the domain name, so we strongly advise keeping your details up to date if these change down the track. Closer to the renewal date we will also follow you up via phone to ensure your domain name registration does not lapse to prevent website and email outages.
With your domain renewal notice, we’ll send you a link that gives you the opportunity to visit the Client Dashboard and log into your hosting account.
Within the Client Dashboard area, you’ll be able to find the option to generate the renewal, and an invoice will be created for you. Once the invoice has been paid, you’ll have successfully renewed your domain name for the extended period of time selected!
If your domain name is being hosted by another provider, we’ll have to initiate a domain transfer before it can be renewed. The Marketing Sweet team would be more than happy to guide you through this process over phone and email if you’re experiencing any issues!

Firstly, you submit your transfer request to us and provide the domain name password or EPP key. If you don’t already have access to the information, your current hosting provider should be able to send it through.
Next, you’ll receive an approval link through the registrant contact address which enables you to approve the name transfer.
