HOW TO FIND A GOOD SEO EXPERT – PART 6
Welcome to part six of what to look for when hiring a professional SEO expert.
SEO is no mystery. Much is said about it all over the web, and if you’re involved in digital marketing you will be familiar with those emails offering you the latest tips and tricks that “they” don’t want you to know about.
But in reality, SEO comes down to good quality, relevant content.
Any SEO strategy worth pursuing should be content-centered; if someone offers you a solution too good to be true with just a few simple (and secret) tricks, you should be sceptical. No SEO strategy should involve making significant changes to the back end coding of your website – if it does, it’s quite possible you’re dealing with a black hat expert, and you’d be advised to keep away.
They have nothing to hide
Optimising your site will necessarily involve making a number of changes to it, both on the front and back end. You can see when new copy has been written or a new menu created, but you may not be aware if the code has been manipulated or meta tags changed.
A good SEO expert will be upfront about the changes they need to make, and should also be able to give you a list of changes when asked. When searching for your future SEO expert, ask them exactly what they need to do to your site and whether they have the necessary skills to do so.
