HOW TO FIND A GOOD SEO EXPERT – PART 4
Welcome to part four of what to look for when hiring a professional SEO expert. If you need a refresher, here is where you can find parts one, two and three.
As we said in our last post, search engines work by analysing content. Search engine providers are providing a service to the public: the service of providing the most relevant information to people seeking it, and search engine algorithms are being constantly updated to ensure that quality content wins the race.
It’s important to understand that SEO experts don’t control search engines, and search engines don’t provide “back-end access” to their inner workings. As an example, Google has published a comprehensive guide on how to get the best results, but offers no guarantees, and quite clearly states the best way to get results is to publish relevant, good quality content.
So what is the fourth thing to look out for when courting a potential SEO expert?
They don’t make promises they can’t keep
A good SEO expert will not promise you the number one spot, nor will they promise a certain timeframe for getting to page one. This is because good SEO experts know that the ultimate decision on where your website ends up in the rankings is in the search engine’s hands.
The Internet is a fluid environment; mountains of content are being created every day, and search engine algorithms are constantly being refined and updated. What a good SEO expert should promise you is that they will keep themselves informed and updated on trends and patterns in order to maximise your results.
